Kathleen Egan’s journey into ultrarunning happened by accident; while training for an Ironman, she spent many long training runs surrounded by ultrarunners who convinced her to cross over into the sport.
That was several years ago and since then, she has competed at many well known races including Tahoe Rim Trai 100 Miler, Western States 100 and Cascade Crest 100 to name a few.
She decided to up her game to a 200 miler to celebrate her 50th birthday and what transpired is the focus of our chat with her. We chat about all this and her big win at Bigfoot 200.
