Mandy Wallace competed in the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB).
UTMB is regarded as one of the most difficult foot races in the world. It is often considered the Olympics of the Ultra world community.
Mandy had her sights on this race since she was a kid, and thought she would never be able to compete in it after suffering severe knee injuries in university.
With her determination and driving force, she started to train in 2018, with marathons in New Zealand, the Chase The Coyote 50k in Ontario, (which she won), Bromont Ultra 160k in Quebec and Oman Ultra in the middle east.
Even while she suffered through stomach issues, knee pain, and of course was sleep deprived she still managed to get it done in over 45hrs.
This is Mandy’s story…
