Kids Run / 5K / 10K

The annual Island Lake Classic 5K & 10K starts and ends in picturesque Island Lake Conservation Area, in Orangeville. Groomed trails and numerous bridge crossings along the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail highlight the natural elements that this park has to offer.

Please note, admission to the park is free for participants and volunteers.

August 31, 2025

  • 10:00 a.m. – Pre-Race Kit Pickup @ Cycling Elements
  • 3:00 p.m. – Pre-Race Kit Pickup Ends @ Cycling Elements

September 1, 2025

  • 8:00 a.m. – Race Kit Pickup begins and will remain
    open until last race starts
  • 8:40 a.m. – Kids Run starts
  • 9:00 a.m. – 10K Run Begins
  • 9:25 a.m. – 5K Run/Walk Begins

The 10K route takes you around the lake on the Vicki Barron Trail, over
several bridges featuring stunning views of the Park and joins back up with
the 5K route through the Sugar Bush.

The 5K route is a bit more challenging course with roller coaster single
track, fast and flat double track, cardio challenging slopes, and forest
views.

Every finisher will receive a medal and a pair of running socks!

Race is chip timed by Enfield Timing. Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
finishers male/female in both events will be acknowledged atop our podium
with a selection of local goodies from a community sponsor. A token of
appreciation and a photo opp on the podium for age groupers in both
events.
